My family and I are WIC Clients, it’s a wonderful supplemental food program. Although there have been cutbacks through the years they still provide super useful elements to make sure every pregnant woman and child under 5 has adequate nutrition. From breastfeeding support to nutritious foods, it’s a helpful resource to many families.
For those of you that have been WIC Participants you know you get a surplus of infant cereals. Keep them in a cool, dry place and they will come in handy even when your infant becomes a toddler. I’ve discovered if I put a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon in with the cereal Jenna gobbles it up, plus I can control the consistency and make it smooth enough to be palatable but thick enough to stay on her spoon for easy self feeding. This morning I even snuck in some Gerber 3rd Foods sweet potatoes 😉
Here is a link to more ways to use infant cereal. I’m a firm believer that it’s one of the most nutritious foods for babies and toddlers.
